The Governor's Cup brings together the strongest amateur field in the state, played over a championship setup: back tees, tightened fairway lines and greens rolled to tournament pace. For members it is the highlight of the year; for visitors it is the best day of the season to come and watch.
The tournament runs with a full spectator programme — hospitality on the terrace, junior clinics alongside the competition, and a prize presentation with the trophy that gives the event its name.

8 – 12 September 2026 at Arsenal Golf & Country Club, Obinze, Owerri. The sponsorship and partnership prospectus is out now.
The 2026 edition is convened by the Local Organizing Committee under the theme Swing and Discover the New Imo — five days of championship golf built around tourism, partnership and youth development.
Sponsorship and partnership packages are open to brands, corporate teams and institutions who want visibility across the week.
