Arsenal Golf & Country Club

Preparing the course…

History

A club built on the Obinze plain.

Arsenal Golf & Country Club began with a simple conviction: that Imo State deserved a golf course of national standing, and a home for the people who play the game here.

Our story so far

From open land to eighteen holes

The land came first — laterite paths, palm stands and gentle falls that the routing followed rather than erased. What has grown around it since is a club, not just a course.

Beginnings

The founding idea

A group of golfers and business people in Owerri set out to create a course that could host serious competition while remaining open to beginners and families.

Construction

Building the course

Fairways were cut to follow the natural terrain, greens shaped for year-round play, and practice areas built so the club could teach as well as test.

Today

A tournament home

The club became the host venue for the Imo Governor's Cup, drawing players, sponsors and visitors from across Nigeria.

Membership at Arsenal is an invitation into a club that is still writing its history.
