FAQ
Questions we're asked most.
Everything a first-time visitor, a prospective member or an event organiser usually wants to know before picking up the phone.
Before you visit
If your question isn't answered here, call or email the club office — someone will know.
- Can non-members play the course?
- Yes. Visitors are welcome on most days. Book a tee time in advance, especially at weekends and during tournament weeks, and arrive about twenty minutes before your slot.
- I've never played golf. Where do I start?
- With the Golf Academy. We run lessons for complete beginners, the short-game area is open to learners, and the front tees make eighteen holes genuinely playable on your first outing.
- Do I need my own clubs?
- No. Club hire is available from the pro shop, and caddies can be arranged when you book. Golf shoes with soft spikes are recommended.
- What is the dress code?
- On the course: collared shirt, golf shoes, no denim. In the clubhouse: smart casual. Function guests follow the dress code set by the event host.
- How do I join the club?
- Choose a membership category, complete an application form, and be proposed and seconded by existing members where required. The club office guides you through each step.
- Can I bring family who don't play?
- Absolutely. The clubhouse, terrace, lawn and dining rooms are open to family and guests whether or not anyone in the group is playing.
- Can I hire the club for an event?
- Yes. Send us the date, guest number and type of event, and our coordinator will arrange a site visit and send a proposal covering spaces, catering and any golf you'd like included.
- How do I enter the Imo Governor's Cup?
- Entry opens ahead of each edition and is announced on our News page. Contact the club office to be notified when entries open and to confirm eligibility.
- Is there parking and security?
- Yes — secure on-site parking for members, visitors and event guests, with security on the gate.
- How far is the club from Owerri?
- Roughly a twenty-minute drive from Owerri city centre, along the Owerri–Port Harcourt corridor towards Obinze.
